Visually the protective coating is smooth, defect free while it’s surface provides a natural lubricating film that enhances the overall resistance to many types of wear mechanisms.
IPC Series 3000 is a nickel super alloy coating that imparts superior corrosion resistance and added wear resistance to the base material being coated. The coating is grain free amorphous structure with excellent barrier corrosion protection. The Series 3000 coating has the morphology similar to that of a metallic glass coating. This absence of a well defined crystal structure eliminates the possibility of intergranular corrosion inherent in many crystalline coatings. |
